Charles City FFA “Farm to Homecoming” Sunday (Sept. 20) Kicks off Homecoming 2026

The Charles City FFA will kickoff Homecoming 2026 for the Charles City School District with its second annual “Farm to Homecoming” meal this weekend.

Sophomore Breadyn Salinas says all Comets fans are once again welcome to join the free will donation taco meal, served from 5 to 6:30 PM Sunday (Sept. 20) in the Middle School parking lot.

The “tailgate style” event will feature locally-sourced ingredients, plus desserts from local vendors.

Attendees are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs.

Other highlights for the week include the king and queen coronation at 2 PM on Friday, Sept. 25, followed by the Homecoming parade at 4 PM.  The Comets will host Benton Community in the Homecoming football game that night at 7:30 PM.

The Comets Homecoming Court includes queen candidates Miyah Stevenson, Kinleigh Bahe, Lyla Rogstad, Sophia Calpito, and Averiana Wohlers. King candidates are Patrick Bruening, Tyler Heitz, Silas Cleveland, Justin Williams, and Anthony Childs.

This year’s Charles City Homecoming theme is “Comet State of Mind.”
