Wednesday (08.26) Filing Deadline for Trustees, Soil & Water, Ag Council Candidates

Wednesday (08.26) is the final day for candidates to file to run this November for positions including hospital trustees, Soil & Water Conservation District Commission, and Ag Extension Council.

Four current members of the Board of Trustees for Floyd County Medical Center have filed seeking re-election: Cheryl Erb, Viva Boerschel, and Amanda McCarty, all of Charles City, plus Sharon Enabnit of Rockford.

In Floyd County, the ballots are set for November for two supervisor seats up for election. In District 2, it’s Democrat Josh Mack, Republican Tyler Robbins, and non-party candidate Aaron Hobert.

The post is currently held by Democrat Frank Rottinghaus. Previously the County Treasurer for some 20 years, Rottinghaus is not seeking re-election for the seat he won  in a special election last September in the wake of the passing of former Supervisor Dennis Keifer.

The Floyd County District 3 Supervisor seat is also up for election this fall, with incumbent Republican Boyd Campbell unopposed on the ballot.

In Chickasaw County, the District 5 Supervisor race will pit incumbent  Republican Travis Suckow against Democratic challenger Jason Byrne. For District 2 Supervisor, incumbent Republican Scott Cerwinske will be opposed by Democrat Jim Ashley, the Mayor of Bassett.

Chickasaw County Recorder is also a contested race, with incumbent Democrat Shirley Troyna challenged by Republican Gina Fangman, the current Elections Deputy in the County Auditor’s office.

Election Day is November 3rd.
