Charles City Leadership Program Taking Applications for Fall Session

Applications are being accepted for the next installment of Charles City Leadership Matters!

Spearheaded by the Chamber of Commerce, the program is designed to educate, encourage and empower participants to unlock their leadership potential in their personal lives, at work and in the community.

The course also provides an opportunity to become more familiar with and engaged in the community – what it has to offer, what resources are available, how things work and why. Participants get a behind-the-scenes look at local businesses, non-profits, government entities, and interact with panel discussions featuring local leaders and organization representatives.

2026 program graduate Carlos Molina said, “I was personally new to the area when my employer offered me this opportunity to join the program. To my surprise, it taught me so much about Charles City: its past, present, and also teaching me the tools to hopefully shape its future for the better.

Graduate Justin Spies said, “You learn so much about all the amenities Charles City has to offer I had no idea existed. They also bring speakers that get you involved with building teamwork and becoming a leader.”

Program participants will meet once a month for nine months starting September 17th and concluding with graduation in May. There is an attendance requirement, as well as complete 10  hours of community service and a group project in order to graduate the program.

Application deadline is August 14th and the class will be limited to the first 20 participants.

For more information on costs and/or to apply for the program, call (641) 228-4234 or email mark@charlescitychamber.com.
