Early Voting Down to Final Days in Iowa; Extended Hours On Saturday (Oct. 31)

Early voting for the November 3rd election is down to its final days.
Before In-person absentee voting ends on Monday (Nov. 2), County Auditor’s offices are offering extended voting hours, with the Floyd County Auditor’s Office at the Floyd County Courthouse in Charles City open until 5 PM Friday (Oct. 30). The same hours apply at the Chickasaw County Auditor’s Office at the Chickasaw Courthouse in New Hampton.
State code also requires all Iowa County Auditors Offices to be open 8 hours on Saturday (Oct. 31). Like many others, both the Floyd and Chickasaw County auditors offices will be open for in-person absentee voting from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday (Oct. 31).
Voters who had an absentee ballot mailed to them are reminded that all ballots must be returned and received by your county’s Auditor’s Office by 8 PM on Tuesday (Nov. 3). Ballots received after that will not be counted.
As for early voting numbers. The Floyd County Auditor’s Office reports that, as of Thursday (Oct. 29), a total of 1,686 ballots have been requested either for absentee mailed ballots or in‑person absentee voting.
The Chickasaw County Auditor’s Office says, through Wednesday (Oct. 28), the total absentee ballot count was 1,923. That total reflects all requested ballots, including both mailed ballots and those cast early in person. Of those, 1,770 ballots are currently on file to be opened and counted on Election Day.
All voting on Election Day must be done at your assigned precinct, with polls open Tuesday from 7 AM to 8 PM.
