Trees for Kids

Want a great excuse to get the kids outside, playing in the dirt, and off their screens? Iowa’s Trees for Kids grant is open right now, and they’re giving out up to $2,500 for local public parks, schools, and community spaces!

Here’s the deal: you get free funding for trees and mulch from local Iowa nurseries, and the kids get to roll up their sleeves and actually help plant them.

Besides being a blast, planting trees is basically a cheat code for kid well-being. Studies show more trees around schools mean better focus, lower stress, and a whole lot of healthy energy burned off.

Applications close January 8th, so grab your shovels and apply today at iowadnr.gov/urbangrants!
