Ag Matters: Tim Burrack Talks at the Borlaug 50th Anniversary in Nashua

On September 10th, there was a large celebration in Nashua for the 50th Anniversary of the Borlaug Learning Center and Northeast Research Farm. Norman Borlaug was an American agronomist from Cresco, Iowa who led initiatives worldwide that contributed to the extensive increases in agricultural production termed the Green Revolution. Borlaug was awarded multiple honors for his work, including the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Congressional Gold Medal, one of only seven people to have received all three awards. Tim Burrack, President of the NE Iowa Ag Experimental Association, spoke about the vitality of the research farm.

Burrack not only has a passion for the research farm but he is generationally tied to the farm itself.

He is striving to bring more awareness to individuals in the aspect of just letting them know the farm exists and to open their eyes to the data that is generated.

The farm is not only tied to local farmers for data and research. It’s also farmer driven.

That was Tim Burrack, President of the NE Iowa Ag Experimental Association speaking from the Borlaug Learning Center 50th Anniversary Celebration in Nashua.
