Charles City School Voter PPEL Up for Renewal Tuesday (Sept. 8)

Voters in the Charles City School District will decide whether to renew the PPEL levy rate during a special election on Tuesday (09.08).

That’s Superintendent Brian Burnight, who says the voter-approved PPEL helps provide some of the district’s most basic necessities for its students.

The current PPEL runs through 2030, with Tuesday’s vote to renew the PPEL through 2040.

The PPEL requires a simple majority YES vote for passage.

Friday (09.04) was the last day for in-person absentee voting in your County auditor’s office. With Monday (09.07) being the Labor Day holiday, courthouses will be closed, thus no voting will be available.

Voting on Election Day can only be done at your assigned precinct. Polls will be open from 7 am to 8 pm on Tuesday.
