A few days past its original target date, the Charles City YMCA pool is back OPEN starting Thursday (09.03).
A YMCA social media post says the pool will be open normal hours and a September schedule was to be published soon.
Officials also note that there will be NO yellow stairs into the pool because they have to wait 30 days for the plaster to cure completely. Please use the built-in wall ladders to get in and out for another couple of weeks.
The YMCA shut down the pool July 21st for “a large project that will involve draining the pool and then will be sandblasted and re-plastered.” The pool closure was initially expected to last until August 29th.
