Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank $1=$2 Challenge Match Underway

Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank has launched its $1 = $2 Challenge Match campaign.

The food bank serves Mason City, Cerro Gordo County and surrounding areas in north central Iowa. During the month of August, donors of monetary support can “double their impact” with several local businesses, professional firms and individuals matching all donations dollar for dollar up to $20,000. 

Your $1 donation becomes $2, $25 becomes $50, $50 becomes $100, $100 becomes $200, and so on. Each dollar buys six pounds of food from the Food Bank of Iowa. 

Officials note, “Right now everyday essentials cost a lot more and many of our neighbors in north iowa are struggling and are facing real hunger. Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank is here to provide emergency food for them but they need more financial support.”
