Pilot Escaped Serious Injury After Crashing Crop Dusting Plane

A pilot escaped without major injuries after his crop dusting plane crashed in north Iowa.

The Kossuth County Law Enforcement center received a 911 call just after 4 PM Wednesday (07.29) reporting a plane crashed about five miles southwest of Algona.

The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says the Cessna Model A-18 8-B plane, registered to D and K Aviation of Milford, lost power and clipped power lines near a residence before crash landing on the property.

The pilot was the only person in the plane and Kossuth County EMS treated him at the scene for minor cuts. No one on the ground was injured.

The FAA has been notified and will conduct its own investigation of the plane crash.

Kossuth County EMA and the Algona Fire Department also responded to the scene.
