Patricia “Pat” Frascht, 94, of Charles City

Patricia “Pat” Frascht, 94, of Charles City, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026, at the 11^th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A funeral service for Pat Frascht will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home with Deacon Michael Ward with Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Patricia “Pat” Ruth (Lynch) Frascht, the daughter of Lee and Lena (Hauser) Lynch, was born on February 3, 1932, in New Hampton, Iowa. She received her education throughout the Midwest, and she graduated from school in Sterling, Illinois. Pat then attended Mount St. Claire All Girls College in Clinton, Iowa where she earned her two-year degree in teaching. She taught in Floyd for one year until her marriage.

Pat was united in marriage to Kenneth Frascht on June 19, 1954, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. They lived in San Diego for a few years while Kenneth served his country in the United States Navy before moving back to the Nashua area.  This is where they raised their two children, Julie and Joe, and worked side-by-side on the farm. In 1992 they moved into Charles City and four short years later, Kenneth passed away on February 18, 1996.

Pat was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City and was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She collected angels of all kinds, amassing a collection of more than 300.

Pat began working for a few years at The Knitting Corner after Kenneth’s passing as something fun to keep herself busy and socialize with others in the community. She also wintered in Arizona, traveled on various bus trips and got more involved in quilting. Pat was a wonderful seamstress who made her own clothing (she wasn’t about to spend the dollar amount they wanted for something she could make herself) and items for family members as well. She was a great cook and baker who is fondly remembered by her grandchildren for making the most delicious “Grandma Pat’s chocolate chip cookies”.

Living family members include her children: Julie (Duane) Ritter of Charles City and Joe (Ronda) Frascht of Charles City; grandchildren: Jessica (Matt) Frana, Bailey (Ben) Schutz, Brad (Samantha) Ritter and Brooke Peters; great-grandchildren: J.J., Jadelyn, Jordin, Quentin, Leighton, Olivia, Henley, Emma, Oakley and Indie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth.
