The Heartland Days food stand previously operated by the Chickasaw County Rescue Squad is now under “new management.”
The New Hampton Fire Department (NHFD) has taken on the food stand in Mikkelson Park, which Food Stand Committee Chair Joel Knutson says got a smooth “hand off” from the Rescue Squad.
Knutson says that sense of community is one of theIR driving forces for the food stand.
Proceeds from the food stand will benefit the NHFD, though Knutson says they’ve tried to keep their food prices affordable.
The New Hampton Fire Department Food Stand will be open Friday (06.12) night starting at 6 PM and again on Saturday after the New Hampton Lions Club free will donation Pancake and Sausage Breakfast from 7:30 to 10 AM.
Knutson, also director of Chickasaw County EMS, says the ambulance service and emergency responders will be ready, if needed, throughout Heartland Days.
