Charles City, New Hampton Swimming Pools Gear Up for Memorial Day Opening

The Charles City and New Hampton municipal swimming pools are gearing up for Memorial Day (05.25) openings.

New Hampton Park-Rec Director Tara Hackman says more lifeguards are always welcome.

Hackman says 14-year-olds can apply for concession stand and top-of-slide positions.

At the Lions Field Pool in Charles City, Park-Rec Director Tyler Mitchell says they appear headed into the swim season fully-staffed.

Mitchell says they’ll get ready to fill the pool this week, a process that has been streamlined.

While the pools are still two weeks away from opening, pool passes can be purchased now, with a few days left to get discount family passes in New Hampton.

Hackman says the splash pad adjacent to the New Hampton Swimming Pool will also open on Memorial Day.
