Sumner-Fredericksburg Community Meetings Sunday (04.19) to Discuss Future of Facilities

The future of facilities in the Sumner-Fredericksburg School District  is the subject of two meetings this weekend.

In a social media post to stakeholders, Superintendent Ryan Cunningham invites community members to join in important conversations this Sunday (04.19) as officials share updates on the district’s facility plans to support students’ needs for today and tomorrow.

Meetings Sunday will be at the High School Vocal Music Room in Sumner at 4:30 PM and in the Middle School Vocal Music Room in Fredericksburg 6 PM.

Last November, a $16 million bond referendum failed to pass, with 54% NO votes to 46% YES votes. Among the projects proposed at that time was to consolidate the district from four school buildings to two, which Cunningham said would save money and improve efficiency to educate Cougar students.

After the measure was defeated, Cunningham said the plan was to run it back with another referendum this November.
