Michigan Man Accused of Abducting Northeast Iowa Girl Back in Iowa

A Michigan man arrested following an Amber Alert for a missing northeast Iowa girl earlier this month is now in custody back in Iowa.

23-year-old Daniyal Khan was initially caught in Michigan on April 5th. Law enforcement safely recovered the girl after arresting him.

According to a criminal complaint, Khan was talking with a 12-year-old on social media. He then drove to Iowa and picked her up at her home in Waterloo before taking her back to Michigan.

The complaint says he kissed and hugged the child and asked if they would be intimate with him in the future.

Khan is facing charges of second-degree kidnapping of a victim under 18, a Class B felony; child stealing and enticing a minor under 13 for sexual abuse or exploitation, both Class C felonies; plus grooming and purchase/possession depiction of a minor in sex acts, both Class D felonies; and indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Khan is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail on $150,000 cash-only bond.
