Charles City Engineer Fallis Will Retire This Week…Really

A retirement over three years in the making will finally come to a reality this week.

According to Charles City Mayor Dean Andrews, City Engineer John Fallis began considering retirement in December 2022.

Fallis has been trying to retire ever since, something he’s heard plenty about from his co-workers.

Fallis was almost gone two months ago.

This Friday (03.27) will finally be Fallis’ final day…really. Then it’s time to enjoy retirement.

Mayor Andrews says putting off retirement by Fallis over the last three-plus years is evidence of his dedicated service.

Fallis is wrapping up 14 total years with the City of Charles City.

A reception in his honored was held Tuesday (03.24) at The Pub in Charles City.
