Free Tax Prep from Floyd County ISU Extension for Those Who Qualify

The Floyd County office of ISU Extension and Outreach is again offering free tax preparation for those who qualify.
That’s Chuck Meyer, who says the free tax prep is provided through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
While VITA utilizes volunteers, Meyer says they are well-versed in tax law and their work is verified before your taxes are filed..
Meyer also notes that there’s one big change in the tax processing.
Meyer advises that change applies to all tax refunds, not just those completed through the VITA program.
For more information or to make an appointment, call 641-228-1453.
VITA is also available in Mitchell, Cerro Gordo, Franklin and Worth counties.
