Northeast Iowa Driver Seriously Injured After Truck Crashes Into Tree

A northeast Iowa man was seriously injured after his truck smashed into a tree.

The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) crash report indicates that, just before 9 PM Sunday (02.08) night, 66-year-old Steven McKee of Harpers Ferry , was driving a Ford 150 pickup on Lansing Harpers Road, just outside of Harpers Ferry, when the truck crossed the center line.

The truck went onto the south shoulder and then entered the ditch, where it hit a tree head on.

ISP says McKee was initially taken to Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon before being flown by helicopter to La Crosse, Wisconsin for further care.

Assisting at the scene were Harpers Ferry Fire and Ambulance, Waterville Ambulance, and the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
