The award-winning New Hampton Dance Team will host its End of the Season Dance Showcase on Saturday (01.10).
The program, starting at 11 am in the New Gym at New Hampton High School, will feature performances from this season, duets, solos and more.
Tickets are $4 for students and $6 for adults.
In early December, the New Hampton Dance Team won the state title in the “Prop” dance category at the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association (ISDTA) State Championships in Des Moines. It marked the sixth consecutive year the Chickasaws have brought home a state title.
Their prop routine, utilizing dryer ducts at a cost of just $12 per dancer, achieved the highest score a New Hampton Dance Team has ever had at state with a 92.63 out of 100.
The Chickasaws were also a Judges Choice in Prop, one of only nine routines selected for judges’ choice over the entire three-day competition.
New Hampton also scored a second place showing in the Hip Hop category, earned a Division 1 rating in contemporary dance and, honored with a Distinguished GPA award for a cumulative grade point average among team members between 3.5 and 3.9.
