URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service La Crosse WI 207 PM CST Fri Nov 28 2025 ...PROLONGED SNOWFALL EXPECTED TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT... .A winter storm is expected to move west to east across the Midwest tonight through Saturday night, bringing a prolonged period of light to moderate snowfall. Areas along and south of Interstate 90 are expected to receive at least 6 inches of snowfall with the highest amounts favored in northeast Iowa and far southwest Wisconsin, where 8 to 12 inches of snow are expected. Heaviest snowfall rates are expected Saturday afternoon over northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin, approaching 1 inch per hour at times. Snowfall tapers off west to east late Saturday night through Sunday morning. Winds will increase Saturday evening and a period of blowing snow may occur west of the Mississippi River.
