Hy-Vee Offers Veterans Breakfast Tuesday, Extends Free Kids Meals, $3 Meals

Hy-Vee will continue to provide $3 meals for familiesat all stores with hot food service.

From 4 to 7 pm Monday (11.10) through Friday (11.14), meals for children 12 and under are free. For everyone else, meals are $3, with options for dine-in or takeout.

 The menus  offered this week:

• Monday, Nov. 10: Chicken alfredo with penne and garlic toast 
• Tuesday, Nov. 11: Chicken or pork & vegetables with steamed rice, appetizer and fortune cookie* (In locations without HyChi, meal will be two chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and corn)
• Wednesday, Nov. 12: Breakfast for Dinner featuring scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage links, fresh fruit and a cinnamon roll
• Thursday, Nov. 13: Chicken hind quarter (drumstick and thigh), potato salad, chocolate chip cookie 
• Friday, Nov. 14: Sloppy Joe sandwich with seasoned green beans

Hy-Vee has also launched a register round-up campaign that allows customers to support local food pantries in their communities by rounding up their purchases at checkout. Customers can also purchase $5 and $10 food bank donation bundles, which will be donated to a designated pantry in each store’s community to assist families in need. 

These efforts are in addition to Hy-Vee’s recent $100,000 corporate donation to Feeding America, with the company also making additional food donations to local food pantries during this time of need.

Hy–Vee is also showing its appreciation to the nation’s veterans and active-duty military members with its annual Veterans Day Breakfast.

A tradition since 1999, the buffet-style breakfast will be offered free of charge to all veterans and active-duty military members on Tuesday (11.11) from 6 to 10 a.m. at all Hy–Vee stores. Veterans and active-duty military members will also receive 15% off their grocery purchases made on Tuesday when they shop at Hy–Vee, Fast and Fresh and Dollar Fresh Market locations.
