One Person Dies in Two-Vehicle Northeast Iowa Crash

One person is dead and another injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash in northeast Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) says the wreck occurred in southern Fayette County just before 11 am on Friday (10.17). ISP says a Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 79-year-old Loyce Bunn of Westgate, crossed the centerline and collided with a Ford F150 pickup, driven by 73-year-old Robert Crawford of Maynard, which was heading eastbound on 100th Street near S Avenue. Both vehicles came to rest in the center of the roadway.

Bunn was transported to MercyOne Medical Center in Oelwein, where he died from his injuries suffered in the crash. Crawford was taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner for treatment of unknown injuries.

Also assisting at the scene were the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Westgate Ambulance and First Responders, and MercyOne Oelwein Ambulance.
