Highway 3 Bridge Replacement Projects in Northeast Iowa Nearing Completion
A pair of northeast Iowa bridge construction projects are nearing completion.
Pete Hjelmstad with the Iowa DOT’s Mason City office says the Highway 3/Bremer Avenue bridge over the Cedar River in Waverly is hitting a major landmark moment.
Waverly Police caution motorists to be aware of the increased cement truck traffic in the area of the bridge construction, with officers directing traffic in some locations.
Meanwhile, Hjelmstad says another Highway 3 bridge over the Wapsipinicon River, between Waverly and Oelwein, is about a month out from wrapping up.
Hjelmstad also notes that the existing Mississippi River bridge at Lansing is still on schedule to close permanently at 7 am Monday (10.20) morning.
