The Charles City Fire Department will host its annual Pancake Breakfast this Sunday (10.12) to cap off Fire Prevention Week.
Volunteer Jan Augustine says proceeds will go towards department equipment needs, with some money helping replace the Sparky the Fire Dog mascot costume.
Augustine welcomes the new costume.
There will also be a fire safety “scavenger hunt” for the kids Sunday.
Serving Sunday morning for a free will donation meal, including pancakes, ham and a drink, is from 8 am to noon at the fire station.
Augustine adds that CCFD is always looking for more volunteer firefighters.
