Pair of 19-Year-old Females Facing Felony Charges After Break-In, Assault in Northeast Iowa
A pair of 19-year-old northeast Iowa females are facing multiple felony charges after they were accused of breaking into a home and assaulting two people.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) says they received a report of an assault in the city of Elgin shortly before midnight Monday (09.29). Deputies responded to the area and, after multiple interviews, it was determined that two individuals broke into a home and assaulted two people in the home.
According to the criminal complaints, a female victim was pulled around by her hair and kicked in her head ribs. An assault of a male victim was allegedly caught on video and FCSO says the suspects also damaged carpet and walls with ketchup and shampoo, plus keyed the man’s car and slashed the tires, with damages exceeding $1,500.
The suspect vehicle was located a short time later and a traffic stop was initiated in West Union, leading to the arrests of Gabrielle Becker of Cedar Falls and Emma Alagic of Waterloo.
Becker has been charged with first-degree burglary, a Class B felony; second-degree robbery, a Class C felony; second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony; and third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. She also faces one count each of domestic assault causing injury, assault causing injury, and trespassing with Injury, all serious misdemeanors.
Alagic is charged with first-degree burglary and trespassing with injury.
FCSO also executed a search warrant on the suspects’ vehicle and found the victim’s items/stolen property inside the vehicle.
Becker and Alagic were both being held in the Fayette County Jail, with bail for Becker set at $25,000 cash-only bond and Alagic’s bail at $25,000 with 10% acceptable. They are both scheduled for a preliminary hearing October 8th in Fayette County District Court.
