It’s Homecoming Week for the Charles City School District.
This year’s theme is “Paint It Black,” with festivities beginning Sunday (09.15) evening with the Farm-to-Homecoming Meal, though the pep rally was cancelled.
Daily school dress up themes for the week include Black Out Day on Monday, Decade Day on Tuesday, Sports Day on Wednesday, Outfits You Only Wear Once on Thursday, and Spirit Day on Friday.
The Homecoming Court includes queen candidates Mya Eckenrod, Addyson Vance, Evelyn Mayhew, Joslyn Bormann, and Ella Hruska. King candidates include Holden McInroy, Jesus Villagomez, Sawyer Hanson, Victor Ward Jr., and Quinn McCarty.
A public pep rally begins at 1:30 pm Friday at Comet Gym in the Middle School, followed by the parade through downtown Charles City.
The 2-1 Comets will host 0-3 Waterloo East in the Homecoming football game kicking off at 7:30 pm Friday night.
