First Meeting Monday (08.18) Night for New Charles City Councilwoman Noah

The Charles City City Council is set to return to full staff when they meet in regular session at 6 pm Monday (08.18) night.
During a special meeting Last Wednesday (08.13) night, the Council heard from three applicants to succeed Keith Starr, who vacated his council seat with his resignation July 31st. Vying for the post were Jeff Otto, Krista Noah and Ryan Boehmer.
After hearing from all three candidates, Councilman Phillip Knighten made the first push for Noah.
Noah touted her experience.
Noah also noted she’s been prepping herself to step into the council role.
Noah was approved on a unanimous 4-0 vote and will serve as a City Council member until the November 4th general election. However, she will have to run for office to retain the council seat beyond that.
Even with Noah’s appointment, any eligible voter in Charles City could file a petition to force a special election, which must be submitted within 14 days of the appointment.
