Book Signing with Mother of Johnny Gosch Tuesday (08.12) in Alta Vista

On September 5, 1982, 12-year-old Johnny Gosch disappeared while on his paper route in Des Moines. He has not been found.

However, his mother, Noreen Gosch, says tips keep coming in.

Gosch chronicled some of those recent developments in her son’s case in her book, “Why Johnny Can’t Come Home,” which she updated in 2024.

Gosch is now on a mission to alert parents to the dangers of human trafficking, which has become more than a singular pedophile acting on his or her own. It’s now a business.

Gosch will be featured in a special program hosted Tuesday (08.12) night hosted by the Alta Vista Public Library. Director Chrystal Griffen says Gosch will sign books, available for $32 cash, from 5 to 6 pm, followed by a program and Q & A from 6 to 8 pm at Municipal Hall in Alta Vista.

Griffen says the program is made possible by a hotel-motel grant through Chickasaw County Tourism, with refreshments available for a free will donation.
