“Reunion Night” for Party in the Park Finale in Charles City Friday (08.01)

It will be a little like old times at the final Party in the Park (PIP) of 2025 this Friday (08.01) night in Charles City, with class reunions and the return of some familiar local faces on stage in Central Park.

Endless Endeavour, with some of the former members of the Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band, and Charles City-based Endless Summer, is scheduled to perform starting at 5 pm. Gene Parson, Med Lewis, Bruce Carr and Gary Parson, original members of Endless Summer, will be joined by Chris Parson, Rick Anderson and Van Switzer playing a variety of music from the late 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s.

Charles City High School Classes of 1968 and 1975 are both having reunions in town this weekend and plan gatherings in the park as well.

Now in its 22nd season, PIP offers free admission and live music. There will also be food vendors, a beer garden, various activities for kids and a great opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbors. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

Food and beverages can be purchased on site using the special PIP tokens, with the orange tokens available in the park for $1 each. Tokens are good at all Party in the Park events.

Among the planned activities this Friday night will be a Water Curtain, provided by the Charles City Fire Department, along with Pedal Cars, fun interactive games with the Llost Llamas 4-H Club, sponsor booths, and some free yard games.
