2025 Bremer County Fair Underway at New Home on East Side of Waverly

The 2025 Bremer County Fair opened its seven-day run on Sunday (07.27) at its brand new home.

The new fairgrounds are located at 300 39th Street on the east side of Waverly, where general manager Eric Ver Steegt says provides a great new showcase for the youth of Bremer County.

Ver Steegt says the Fair Board has put some long hours into bringing their new home together.

Ver Steegt adds that the new fairgrounds won’t just be fair grounds.

The first couple of days have been somewhat of a rough start for the new fairgrounds. Due to ongoing weather concerns Monday (07.28) night and the damage sustained from storms Sunday (07.27) night, fair officials,  in consultation with Bremer County Emergency Management, made the decision to CLOSE the fairgrounds Monday at 10PM for the safety of youth, fairgoers, animals, and volunteers. All guests were asked to vacate the grounds before 10PM Monday night.

Weather Sunday into Monday morning forced the postponement of the Figure 8 Races to Tuesday (07.29) night. And, as of 12:45 pm Tuesday, were still on.
