Our Lady of Lourdes Steeple Day Saturday (07.26), Sesquicentennial Sunday (07.27)

It’s a double celebration this weekend in Lourdes, located about 15 miles north of New Hampton.

Saturday (07.26), it’s the 27th annual Steeple Day, with festivities at Our Lady of Lourdes Church and nearby park. They include a sanctioned Tractor Pull at 10 am, with a New Hampton FFA Kids Pedal Tractor Pull and a Garden Tractor Pull both at 11 am.

Pauline Shatek is with the Steeple committee. She says the Steeple parade also makes a return at 2 pm Saturday.

Brian Arnold says live music will begin at 6 pm Saturday.

On Sunday (07.27), Our Lady of Lourdes Church celebrates its 150th anniversary, including a polka mass at 11 am, a roast beef and pork dinner from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, and the opening of the time capsule at 2 pm.

Proceeds from Steeple Day go to improvements, repairs and upgrades at the church.
