The Fayette County Fair continues through Saturday (07.26) in West Union.
Megan Baumgartner is with the Fayette County Fair Board Concert Committee. She says Friday (07.25) night’s concert features Eagles tribute band Hotel California and Fleetwood Mac cover artists, World Turning Band. It’s also Farm Town Proud Night.
Saturday (07.26) is country night, featuring Chris Janson, whose hits include “Fix a Drink,” “Good Vibes,” “Drunk Girl,” and “Buy Me A Boat.”
Earlier this week, Alex Kent was crowned Fayette County Fair Queen and Deanna Balk was named Fair Princess. With the queen coronation also came the Fair Queen Pie Auction.
Baumgartner notes: when the Fair Queen Pie Auction first started, pies were auctioned off at 50-bucks. Now, you’ll find it hard to get one for under $1,000.
Other fair highlights include free carnival rides on the Midway from 2 to 10 pm Friday and noon to 11 pm Saturday.
