A north Iowa man is dead after his SUV was struck by a train.
The Iowa State Patrol (ISP) says the collision occurred shortly after 10 am Wednesday (07.23) morning at a railroad crossing in Mitchell County. The ISP crash report indicates that 62-year-old Kenneth Warrington of St. Ansgar was northbound in the 3800 block of Indigo Avenue, southeast of Mitchell, when he failed to yield his Ford Explorer to an eastbound train.
ISP says the Explorer was struck on the driver’s side and Warrington was pronounced dead at the scene.
