Charles City’s “Mr. Hy-Vee” Marking 41 Years of Service

A well-known employee of Hy-Vee in Charles City looks to keep the fun going after his unforgettable weekend of celebrating 41 years of service.

A Hy-Vee media release says, “Brad Lynch was thrilled to throw out the first pitch at Saturday’s (07.19) Iowa Cubs game in Des Moines. Lynch’s entire family and many of his loyal customers were there to cheer him on as he stepped to the mound in his custom Hy-Vee jersey and lobbed the ball across home plate.”

Hy-Vee coordinated the moment of recognition for Lynch, who loves baseball and is known for his customer service and helpful smile.

Lynch said in an interview with KCCI-TV, “A lot of people know me and like me, and they say I do a good job.”

Brad’s brother, Brian Lynch, said “He’s ‘Mr. Hy-Vee’ in Charles City, that’s for sure.”

On Wednesday (07.23), Brad Lynch will wear his Hy-Vee jersey to work and show off his game ball, along with a miniature semi-truck custom-made with his photo on the trailer.
