The 2025 Floyd County Fair Queen was crowned Tuesday (07.15) night during coronation ceremonies in the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds just west of Charles City.
Bruening was selected queen over candidates that also included Kylie Blunt and Isabelle Knecht.
Bruening says she decided to give running for queen a try after seeing her older sister, Maya Bruening, selected as the Floyd County Fair Queen runner-up in 2022.
Also on Tuesday night, Ellie Merriss was named Little Miss Floyd County and Kash Kubik is Little Mr. Floyd County.
The Fair officially opens Wednesday (07.16) and continues into Sunday (07.20).
Among Wednesday’s activities, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office will be grilling and having a presentation with K9 Sirius at 5:30. The free will donation meal is a fundraiser for the K9 program.
