Earlier this year, the Charles City Police Department (CCPD) promoted Officer Jordan Smith to investigator, a position that became available following the retirement of former investigator Brad Billharz last October.
Police Chief Hugh Anderson says they are still looking to fill the open public safety officer spot created by those staff changes. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, which Anderson hopes candidates will find their hiring incentives attractive.
Anderson says other incentives include a $5,000 sign-on bonus for certified officers. And, if an applicant isn’t certified yet, CCPD, like all law enforcement agencies in Iowa, will help take care of that.
The City is also taking applications for a Code Enforcement Officer at www.cityofcharlescity.org. Applications are accepted until the position(s) are filled.
