The new shared superintendent for the New Hampton and Turkey Valley (NHTV) school districts will participate in his first joint school board meeting Wednesday (07.09) night.
Erik Smith took over as NHTV shared superintendent on July 1st, succeeding Jay Jurrens, who retired. Smith says he likes to take a collaborative approach to his leadership style.
Smith previously served as the shared superintendent for AGWSR and Gladbrook-Reinbeck school districts for three years, with his last year at AGWSR as the superintendent and the high school principal. His experience prior to that also included seven years as the principal at Nashua-Plainfield High School.
Smith and the New Hampton and Turkey Valley school boards meet in a joint work session Wednesday night at 6:30 pm in the New Hampton High School FCS room.
