Breaking: Bicyclist Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle in Northeast Iowa

A bicyclist is dead after being struck by a minivan in northeast Iowa.
The Iowa State Patrol says the collision occurred shortly after 10 am Sunday (06.29) morning about three miles north of West Union. A bicycle, operated by an unidentified 76-year-old from West Union, was traveling southbound on Juniper Road when it was hit near the intersection with Kitty Road by a minivan driven by 72-year-old Steven Steinberg of Ossian, that was also heading southbound.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.
Also assisting with the incident, which remains under investigation, were the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, West Union Police Department, West Union Fire Department, and Gunderson EMS.
