Chickasaw County Supervisors addressed EMS staffing shortages during their regular meeting June 2.
Ambulance Director Joel Knutson, who himself has had to pick up several extra shifts because of the issue, told the Board that a recent employee survey showed the situation is impacting morale.
Knutson added that insufficient staffing could also have a financial impact.
Knutson asked to hire three part-time EMTs and one part-time ambulance driver, a move supported by Supervisors Steven Breitbach.
Supervisors unanimously approved all four hires for the EMS department.
