Search Firm Helping to Hire Next City Administrator for Charles City
The City of Charles City has set the wheels in motion to hire their next city administrator.
The position is currently held by Steve Diers. However, he has agreed to become the new city administrator for the City of Clear Lake. Diers’ last official day on the job in Charles City is set for June 20th. He’ll begin work in Clear Lake on July 7th.
To help find his replacement, the City has hired Hinson Consulting, the search firm that helped Diers land the job in Clear Lake. During a special meeting May 28th, Brent Hinson gave an outline to the City Council on the hiring process.
Hinson said the search will be nationwide, though they’re most concerned with the right fit for Charles City, a concept Councilman Patrick Lumley is on board with.
Hinson’s initial timeline calls for the next city administrator to be in place by November 1st, drawing Councilman DeLaine Freeseman to ask Hinson his thoughts on an interim city administrator.
Hinson is next expecting to have his team hold one-on-one meetings with City officials the week of June 9th. The current deadline for applications is August 7th.
