Osage Man, Convicted of Vehicular Homicide in 2014, Takes Plea Deals on Latest Charges

A North Iowa man, convicted of vehicular homicide after driving drunk in a crash that killed a Charles City man over a decade ago, has agreed to plead guilty to charges from incidents this past January, with that plea deal coming less than a week after he was arrested on drug possession charges.
On January 14th, Osage Police responded to a disturbance at the residence of 33-year-old Tylor Patrick. At the scene, a male and female victim claimed Patrick made threatening statements while hitting the side of his trailer with a baseball bat, later located at his mother’s residence. The victims also accused Patrick of coming to the female victim’s home the night before and making threats to use a firearm.
That led to a search of Patrick’s trailer on January 15th, which located a .22 caliber revolver, marijuana, and various drug paraphernalia.
Tuesday (05.20), Patrick agreed to plead guilty in Mitchell County District Court to one count of assault with intent to inflict serious injury, going armed with intent, and illegal control of a firearm by a previously convicted felon. He is scheduled to be sentenced July 1st.
Patrick is also scheduled for a plea hearing June 17th from his February 13th arrest on two incidents of tampering with witnesses connected to his January arrests.
On May 14th, Patrick was arrested on three counts of drug possession, including meth and prescription pills that were not his. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on those charges FRiday (05.23).
In December 2014, when he was 23, Patrick was convicted in Floyd County for vehicular homicide while driving drunk in a crash that killed 22-year-old Jesse Wilson of Charles City. Patrick was sentenced to 25 years in prison, but was out on parole when he was arrested in January.
