Charles City VFW Hosts Special Clothing Drive Distribution Thursday (05.15)

Due to overwhelming response in the first three weeks of the campaign, Charles City VFW Post #3914 is suspending most donations for its citywide clothing drive.

That’s coordinator Patrick Lumley, who says they are making adjustments as they go.

Also on Thursday (05.15), there will be special hours from 11 am to 7 pm for veterans and anyone in need of free clothing to stop in to get what they need. Lumley adds that Restore Independent Mobility (RIM) of Waverly will also be on hand.

Those coming to pick up free clothing are to enter through the VFW’’s eastside door off the lower level parking lot, towards Washington Elementary School.

Janey’s Heart Attack Shack food truck will also be on site from start to finish. The VFW bar will open at 3:30 pm Thursday and is open to the public.
