The Lions Field municipal swimming pool in Charles City, undergoing over three-quarters-of-a-million dollars in renovation and upgrades, is still on target to open on Memorial Day.
That’s City Administrator Steve Diers, who also told the City Council Monday (05.05) night that there’s still work to be done.
Councilman Patrick Lumley said the pool makeover can be marked down “as a win” now and for the future.
Diers added that the project was money a good investment.
The Council then approved the latest payment of over $85,000 to Woodruff Construction for work on the pool.
While the pool will open on Memorial Day, May 26th, it will then be closed for three days, with preliminary plans to host a grand re-opening of the pool on Friday, May 30th.
