Charles City’s Diers Finalist for Clear Lake City Administrator Position

The City of Charles City could find themselves in the market for a new city administrator.

The City of Clear Lake has announced the selection of three finalists for their position of City Administrator, which includes current Charles City City Administrator Steve Diers. Other finalists are Ron Dunt, City Administrator for the City of Hampton, and Jacob Widman, Finance Director & Director of Administrative Services for the City of Clear Lake. Widman is also Clear Lake’s Acting City Administrator.

To engage the community in the final selection process, the City of Clear Lake will host a Public Meet & Greet event from 5 to 6:15 pm this Friday (05.02) in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Residents are invited to meet the candidates, ask questions, and provide input.

Feedback collected during the event will be considered by the City Council prior to making a final hiring decision. Interviews with the finalists are scheduled for this Saturday (05.03).

According to the City of Charles City website, Diers has been city administrator since March 2014.
