“Baker’s Dozen” Arrested Following Recent NEIA Drug Raids

Northeast Iowa authorities recently arrested a “baker’s dozen” of subjects on drug possession and drug trafficking charges.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) says 10 narcotics-related search warrants were executed in Fayette County over a three-week investigation which yielded 13 arrests and 37 charges. Drug busts were executed in Hawkeye, Arlington, West Union and Clermont, leading to the seizure of marijuana, methamphetamine, and numerous pills.
Among those arrested for possession and/or intent to deliver meth include 40-year-old Melissa Shaw of Clermont, 51-year-old Audie Wood of West Union, 42-year-old James Cornwell of Arlington, and 61-year-old Brian Coonradt of Hawkeye, who was arrested twice during the investigation. Shaw is also charged with two counts of felony child endangerment.
Taken into custody for possession and/or intent to deliver marijuana include 18-year-old Caleb Hammel of Clermont, 32-year-old Alex Dettbarn, 40-year-old Taryn Weaver, and 31-year-old Dakota Howard, all of Arlington, 30-year-old Matthew Helgerson and 28-year-old Desirae Jordan, both of West Union, plus 22-year-old Hannah Bodley, 48-year-old Matthew Burnell and 43-year-old Jennifer Herman, all of Hawkeye.
More charges are pending in the investigation, with FCSO being assisted by Iowa State Patrol, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette, Strawberry Point, and West Union Police Departments.
