Floyd County Medical Center Makes Iowa Surgery History
Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) in Charles City made Iowa medical history on Wednesday (04.09).
According to a hospital’s Facebook post, “FCMC made history on April 9, 2025, as the first hospital in Iowa to use the new Stryker Mako 4 SmartRobotics™! Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Clark and FCMC’s surgery team used this new state-of-the-art equipment to perform a hip replacement. This is an amazing achievement not just for FCMC, but for all the communities that we serve!”
FCMC adds that the growth of its orthopedics program demonstrates the hospital’s continued dedication to their patients.
