Floyd County Medical Center to Hold Annual Donate Life Ceremony Tuesday (04.01)

Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) will host its annual “Donate Life” ceremony this week.
The community is invited to this year’s event, which begins at 10 am Tuesday (04.01) in the Veterans Room of FCMC before concluding with light refreshments in the cafeteria. Guest of honor Rozanne Chambers Meek will share her story of how organ donation has impacted her life.
FCMC has hosted a Donate Life service every year, along with a ceremonial flag-raising of the Donate Life flag. However, due to the construction of the new clinic, FCMC’s flagpole had to be removed.
While a flag-raising will not be on the official itinerary for the event, construction teams working on the expansion said they would place the flag on the corner of the roof of the new clinic.
National Donate Life Month is held in April every year to raise awareness about organ donation, as well as honor those who saved lives through the gift of organ donation.
