More Asbestos Abatement Needed as Charles City City Hall, PD Renovation Continues

City Hall offices, as well as the police department in Charles City, are in temporary homes while the current City Hall and PD undergo about $5 million in renovations.

Diers adds that, to no one’s surprise, more asbestos has been uncovered during the initial work, though sources for that asbestos have been.

Diers added that asbestos abatement is expected to continue next week.

Temporary City Hall offices are now at 507 Clark Street, while the  Charles City Police Department is currently operating out of 623 Beck Street, which also houses Code Enforcement and Parks and Recreation.
