New Hampton, Turkey Valley School Boards to Screen Shared-Superintendent Applications
The New Hampton and Turkey Valley school boards will take the next step in finding the successor to shared Superintendent Jay Jurrens next week.
The two school districts are working with Grundmeyer Leader Services to assist in the hiring process to replace Jurrens, who will retire at the end of the school year, June 30th.
The New Hampton and Turkey Valley School Boards met jointly earlier this week (01.13) to review the 12 applications received for the pending opening. TV School Board President Don Blazek says they trimmed that list in half and will put them through a screening process this Monday (01.20).
Blazek says interviews of the finalists are slated for February 6th, with the hopes of extending an offer to their top choice after another joint meeting that night.
Blazek says Jurrens will be tough to replace.
Jurrens has been superintendent with New Hampton Schools for 13 years, with the last eight a shared position with Turkey Valley.
