Charles City Mobile Food Pantry January Distribution Delayed by New Year’s Holiday

The Charles City Mobile Food Pantry is gearing up for its January distribution of food to those in need.
However, organizer Jen Burton says distribution will not be on its normal first Wednesday of the month.
Burton says the number of households that receive the free food continues to grow.
In an effort to streamline the distribution of all that food in one hour, Burton says they’ve begun registering recipients with a bar code for each household.
Burton adds that another 50-some households are served via home delivery during the monthly food distribution, which again, for January, is from 5 to 6 pm Thursday, January 9, at the Floyd County Fairgrounds.
